For 4 years I have done a fitness/nutrition boot camp. The boot camp would go for 6 weeks and then we would have 3 weeks off. We would get a one day menu to use as a guide to follow for our nutrition. The menu was perfectly balanced with grams of protein, carbs and fat to help achieve the goals we had set. My goal was usually to decrease my body fat percentage. Every 6 weeks my results were amazing. Of course there is human error in the measurements - but I could tell I was achieving my goals. I usually would lose 6 lbs on the scale and 8-10 inches. Only the last couple of years was our body fat measured. In the 6 week period, I would usually lose 4-6% body fat - about 23-25 to 19%. The entire 6 weeks - I would eat the same exact thing every day. It was difficult for me to substitute foods in my menu because of the different macros of different foods - and then the totals at the end of the day. We were to write down everything that entered our mouth and then add up the totals at the end of the day. This was sooooo time consuming. When the 6 weeks was up - I felt amazing and was very happy with my results and then I would go celebrate. That celebration usually lasted the 3 weeks that we were off boot camp. I would eat all the foods that I couldn't have while on camp - and go out to eat at the restaurants that I had been depriving myself of and craving for 6 weeks.
During a 3 week period that we were off boot camp - I decided to try an 18 day challenge. When I started back up with my boot camp --- so remember I was at a fit lean state when I started the challenge --- I had lost 9 lbs and 3% body fat. I ended boot camp at 123 lbs and 23% body fat. I started the next camp at 114 lbs and 20% body fat. Here is the difference of what I felt. I had energy all the time! No naps needed each day - I had such a low carb level during boot camp that my energy was sucked dry. I was not hungry - I actually ate 1300-1400 calories during camp and during the 18 day challenge. I did not crave sugar and fatty foods. The cleanse got these "craving" toxins out of my body. I never felt deprived of anything - those foods didn't even sound good to eat. Lastly, IT WAS SO EASY! No counting calories, adding up totals, balancing carbs/fats/protein.
That next boot camp session, the trainer allowed me to use my isagenix system during camp. He did not do a menu for me, I did not have to write anything down or add anything up. My fitness level was crazy. I could keep up with the most fit in the class (where previous I would be in the same group, but was always the slowest in the group). I also noticed I never had sore muscles due to the increased recovery associated with the isagenix ionic supreme and the shakes. It was so easy! My results at the end - My weight stayed the same but my body fat was 17%. AND IT WAS EASY!!!!
Here is the clincher - instead of improving my physique over a six week period and then gaining it all back in 3 weeks and then losing and gaining - for 4 years - I have maintained or improved my physique for 8 months with maybe gaining and losing 2 lbs. AND IT IS SO EASY!
